Plans and the trial

What each Careers Orbit plan costs and includes, how the 14-day trial works, what happens when it ends and when an organisation has more live jobs than its plan allows.

Careers Orbit is paid per organisation, with a public price for every plan. Owners and admins choose a plan under Billing in Orbit.

What the plans include

Prices are per month. Paying yearly costs the price in brackets per month.

An active job is one that is published or internal only, including a job scheduled to go live later. Drafts, jobs in review, closed and archived jobs and templates don't count, so you can prepare as many as you like.

There is no charge per person: invite every hiring manager and interviewer you need.

Starter has everything for hiring itself: the career site and hosted career pages, the application form, the pipeline, emails and automations, the free job boards (Google for Jobs, Indeed, the Bundesagentur and LinkedIn Basic Jobs), the candidate portal, the privacy tools, reports, and the delivery API and Careers SDK for your own website.

Growth adds:

  • your own domain, such as jobs.northwilds.com
  • SMS and WhatsApp
  • assessments and video interviews
  • calendar sync
  • talent pool campaigns and job alerts
  • referrals
  • offers with e-signature
  • the management API and webhooks

Enterprise adds signing with DocuSign, Skribble or Yousign, StepStone and paid job board partners, invoice billing and an agreed response time.

A feature outside your plan still has its place in Careers Orbit, with a note saying which plan has it. Moving to a smaller plan deletes nothing: anything already set up is kept and comes back when you upgrade. Things that protect candidates always work, whatever the plan: replying STOP to a text, unsubscribing, results for tests already sent, accepting an offer already sent, and erasure and data requests.

The trial

Owners and admins start a 14-day trial of Starter or Growth from Orbit's setup or under Billing, without a card. The trial has the features of the plan you try. Careers Orbit shows the days left at the top and above your name in the sidebar.

Three days before the trial ends, owners get an email, and Careers Orbit shows the end date to everyone.

When a trial or plan ends

If no plan is chosen by the day the trial ends, or a cancelled plan reaches the end of its period, Careers Orbit pauses straight away:

  • Your career pages show a short "temporarily unavailable" note instead of your jobs, and jobs come off your own website, the sitemap, the job feeds and the job boards. The delivery API and applications answer 402 with the code subscription_inactive.
  • Automated emails, text messages, campaigns and job alerts wait. Straight after a plan is chosen, everything that came due goes once. The candidate's timeline says Sent after the plan was restored for an automation, and the audit trail says the same for a campaign or job alert and Announced after the plan was restored for a job that was due to go live.
  • Jobs, the career site, settings, automations and campaigns can't change, and no job can go live.
  • Your team can still sign in, read everything, move and reject candidates, add notes and ratings, schedule interviews, reply to them, export, and handle erasure and data requests. Emails and texts you write yourself go straight away; automations a move starts, such as the rejection email, wait for a plan like the others. Closing a job still works. Candidates can still use their account, privacy and interview pages.
  • A notice at the top says Careers Orbit is paused. Owners and admins get a button to Billing in Orbit; everyone else is asked to talk to an owner.

Nothing is deleted and no job is closed: choose a plan and every job is back within a minute, and the job boards pick them up again on their next visit.

More live jobs than the plan allows

After a move to a smaller plan, or when a trial ends, Careers Orbit says how many jobs are over the limit. Choose Choose jobs to close and tick the jobs to close, such as last season's mountain guide in Lofoten. Closing a job takes it off your career pages and the job boards; its candidates stay and you can reopen it later.

Until you are within the limit, publishing a job tells you to close one first.
