Review job ads before they go live

Turn on reviews so a second person checks every job ad, then send, approve or send back job ads.

How-to guide1 min read

Reviews are off at first. An admin turns on Review job ads under Hiring rules, in Job ad review. With reviews on, nobody can publish a new job ad directly: someone else checks it first. Drafts can't be published internally only either; they go through the same review.

Send a job ad for review

On a draft job, choose Send for review. Add a Note for the reviewer (optional) for the reviewer if it helps, such as "Salary agreed with Ingrid in Bookings". The job's status becomes In review and reviewers get a notification in Orbit.

Review

Open Reviews in the sidebar, or the job itself. The sidebar shows how many job ads are waiting, and Tasks on Orbit's Home lists them too.

  • Approve and publish: the job goes live, or at the time you scheduled.
  • Ask for changes: say What should change and choose Send back. The job goes back to draft, and the person who sent it sees your comment on the job and in their notifications.

Admins and recruiters can review. Hiring managers can too if an admin turns on Hiring managers review under Hiring rules. You can't approve a job ad you sent yourself: Reviews shows it as Waiting for a colleague. The sender can take it back with Back to draft in the job's menu.

Changes to a job that is already live go out without a new review, and so does reopening a closed job.
