Use Travel Orbit on your pages
Connect the space to Travel Orbit, then show trips, departures and book buttons with prices and places that stay current.

Orbit's satellites talk to each other. When your organisation also has Travel Orbit, this space can show your trips on the website without copying them: you pick a trip, and every visitor sees its current price, next dates and places left.
Connect the space
- Open Configuration › Orbit connections.
- Turn on the Booking site on the Travel Orbit card. You need permission to change the space's settings.
The card says which booking site the space uses, such as the Northwilds booking site. Connecting adds eight blocks to the block library under Travel Orbit, and Trip, Trips, Destination and Departure fields that developers can add to your own components. Admins can also connect a space from Orbit connections in Travel Orbit.
Turning the connection off hides the blocks and fields from editors. Pages that already show trips keep them, but the trips show as unavailable until you connect again. Nothing is deleted.
The blocks
- Trip cards: trips you pick, such as the Lofoten ridge walk and the Hardangervidda crossing, with photo, price from and next date.
- Trip list: every trip to a country or continent, or with an activity or area, such as all hiking trips in Norway. Trips join and leave the list by themselves as you publish them in Travel Orbit. How many limits it.
- Book button: opens the trip on your booking site. Pick a Departure too and it goes straight to booking that date.
- Next departures: the coming dates of one trip, with places left and a book link for each.
- Continents: every continent you travel to, each with its countries and how many trips go there.
- Countries: countries with their photo and number of trips. Pick a Continent to show only its countries, such as Europe. Only countries with trips is on to start with.
- Country facts: capital, languages, currency, calling code and today's weather for a country you pick, such as Norway.
- Guides: your guides with photo, role and a link to their page.
Hub pages
Connecting also adds three draft pages, if the space has no page at that address yet, whether you connect here or from Travel Orbit: Trips (/trips) with a Trip list, Destinations (/destinations) with Continents and Countries, and Guides (/guides) with Guides. Change their text and layout like any page, then publish them. Pages that already exist at those addresses are left as they are, and connecting again never adds a second one. The pages are added for you even if your role may not create content, since connecting needs permission to change the space's settings; the activity log shows them as added by the Travel Orbit connection.
Link to a trip, destination or guide
Link fields and menu items can point at a trip, destination or guide too: choose Travel Orbit where you choose between a page and an address. The link goes to its page on your website, from the templates below, or to the booking site while there is no published template. It follows the trip if its address name changes in Travel Orbit.
Pick a trip
Choose a trip from the list. It shows each published trip's photo, length, price from and next date, and you can search by name. A trip you picked that is no longer on your booking site, because it was unpublished or moved to the bin, is marked in amber and shows as unavailable on the website until you pick another.
Prices in your region's currency
A trip shows its price in the currency of the page's region when the trip is sold in it in Travel Orbit, such as kroner on a Norway region whose Currency is NOK, and in the trip's own currency otherwise. Set a region's currency under Environments.
Always current
The page stores only which trip you picked. Prices, dates and places left come from Travel Orbit each time the website asks, kept for at most a minute, so you never have to update a page when a price changes. The preview always shows the latest. When a trip, its dates or its places change in Travel Orbit, pages that show it are refreshed on the website straight away.
Start a page from Travel Orbit
In Travel Orbit, a trip's details show On your website: every page that shows the trip, live or draft, with a link that opens it here. Create a page there makes a draft page in this space with Trip cards, Next departures and a Book button filled in. Add your own text and pictures, then publish it as usual.
Pages for every trip, destination and guide
Trips, destinations and guides are never copied into CMS Orbit. Their pages come from three templates you lay out once. See Trip, destination and guide page templates.
