Show reviews from Presence Orbit
Connect the space to Presence Orbit, then show a location's reviews, its rating and a link to leave a review, always current.
How-to guide2 min read
When your organisation also has Presence Orbit, this space can show what customers say about your locations without copying a single review: you pick a location, such as Northwilds Oslo, and every visitor sees its newest reviews and current rating.
Connect the space
- Open Configuration › Orbit connections.
- Turn on Reviews in this space on the Presence Orbit card. You need permission to change the space's settings.
Connecting adds three blocks to the block library under Presence Orbit, and a Review location field that developers can add to your own components.
Turning the connection off hides the blocks from editors. Pages that already have them keep them, but they show no reviews until you connect again. Nothing is deleted.
The blocks
- Reviews: a location's newest public reviews, each with its stars, the reviewer's first name and initial, the date, and a link to read it on the site it came from, such as Google. Lowest rating shown leaves out lower ratings, Site shows one site only, Language shows reviews written in one language, such as nb for Norwegian, and How many limits the list. Turn on Show the rating summary for the average and the rating on each site, and Show your replies to show your published replies under each review.
- Rating badge: the location's average rating and number of reviews, for a header, a footer or next to a button. It links to the location's review page.
- Leave a review: asks visitors to review the location, with a button to its review page in Presence Orbit, which offers every review site you use and a way to tell you privately.
Showing reviews fairly
Reviews are shown exactly as customers wrote them. When a Reviews block leaves some out, for example below four stars, the website says so under the reviews, next to where the reviews come from. Keep the link to each review's site: Google, Tripadvisor and the others ask that reviews shown elsewhere name and link to them.
Always current
The page stores only which location you picked. Reviews and ratings come from Presence Orbit each time the website asks, kept for at most a minute, so new reviews appear without anyone changing the page. The preview always shows the latest.
Websites not built with CMS Orbit
A website built with CMS Orbit doesn't need Presence Orbit's widgets: the blocks above are part of your pages and look like the rest of your site. Widgets are for websites built some other way.
