Publish an emergency banner
Put a notice on every page at once, without review or a release, when something urgent happens.
How-to guide1 min read
For urgent notices, such as shops closing because of a storm. It needs the emergency:publish permission, which Administrators and Owners have.
- Open a banner, or create one, and write the message.
- Open the arrow next to Publish and choose Publish as emergency….
- Say why it is an emergency. This is required.
- Choose Publish now.
The banner goes live on every page straight away, pinned in front of any other banner. Its targeting and start date are cleared, and any review or schedule is skipped. Approvers are told, and the audit trail records who did it, why, and what the banner's settings were before.
Important
Wait for your changes to save before publishing; the emergency publish uses the saved draft.
Take it down like any banner: unpublish it, or give it an end date.
