Send a page for review, and approve one
Ask for sign-off on a page, follow its progress, and approve or ask for changes.
How-to guide2 min read
Some content types, such as product pages, can only go live after an approval. Any page can also be sent for a second opinion.
A single review works on every plan. Approval steps of your own, such as Product safety, then Legal, are part of the Growth and Enterprise plans.
Send a page
- Choose Submit for review, or open the arrow next to Publish and choose it there.
- Pick reviewers, or leave it empty so everyone who can approve is told.
- Write what they should look at, such as "New safety claims in the second section".
- Leave Publish as soon as it is approved on if it should go live straight away.
Reviewers are told in the CMS and in Orbit. While the page is in review, editing it means sending it again, because an approval covers the exact version that was sent.
Follow it
Open Publishing › Reviews. Each review shows its sign-offs as a trail: done, waiting and still to come. Open one to see the journey from sent to live, the preview, what changed with its actual content, and the conversation.

Emails
Besides the notification in Bifröst Orbit, people get an email when a page needs their review or sign-off, when someone comments on a review they are part of, and when their page is approved or changes are asked for. An SEO fix assigned to you, a review date coming up and an emergency publish also send an email. Each email links straight to the review or page. Suspended people get no emails.
Approve or ask for changes
- Open the review. If it is yours to decide, the card on the right says Your sign-off and the step's name.
- Read the changes and the preview, and ask questions in the conversation.
- Choose Approve, or write a note and choose Ask for changes.
Nobody can approve their own changes. When a step is limited to a role, such as Product safety for the SEO Manager role, only that role can sign it off. The record keeps who approved, their role and the version.
Review dates
The Review dates tab lists product and safety pages whose review-by date is near or past. See Keep product pages reviewed.
