Publish, schedule and take offline

Put a page live now or at a set time, take it offline, and go back to an earlier version.

How-to guide2 min read

Publish now

  1. Choose Publish.
  2. Read the publish check: what changed, and anything that blocks it, such as missing alt text or an image without consent.
  3. Confirm. The page is live, and the website shows it within about a minute.

If a page is Live · edited, the website still shows the last published version until you publish again.

To publish many at once, tick them in the Pages list or a collection and choose Publish, or choose Publish all to publish everything that is not live yet. You see the list before anything goes live.

Schedule

  1. Open the arrow next to Publish and choose Schedule….
  2. Pick Publish or Take offline, then the date and time in the region's time zone.
  3. Save. The page shows Scheduled and goes live on time, even if nobody is signed in.

Take a page offline

Open the arrow next to Publish and choose Unpublish. You can send visitors to another page so the old address keeps working, which also creates a redirect.

Go back to an earlier version

Choose Version history from the same menu to compare any earlier version with your draft, side by side on the real website, and restore it. Restoring creates a new version, so nothing is lost. See Compare and restore versions.

Promote to another environment

When a page is ready in Staging, Promote to › Production copies it live there. Production may need an Administrator, depending on your role.

Promoting copies the published version: its content, SEO, name and address, including the slug, a custom address and the folder it is in. Folders that do not exist in the other environment yet are created. If the address changed since the last promotion, the old one redirects to the new one there, as when you move a published page. If another page in that environment already uses the address, nothing is promoted until you move or delete that page there.

Tip

To put several pages live at the same moment, use a release instead of scheduling each one.
