When someone else is editing
Only one person edits a page at a time. See who is there, ask to take over, or hand it over.
How-to guide1 min read
The first person to open a page holds it for editing. Everyone else who opens it sees who is editing and can read it, but not change it, so nobody overwrites anyone.
See who is there
Faces in the top bar show who else has the page open. The holder's name shows next to them.
Ask to edit
Choose Ask to edit. The person editing is asked whether to hand over.
- If they hand over, the page reloads for you with their latest changes, ready to edit.
- If they keep it, you are told.
- If they do not answer within a minute, for example because they left the tab open, you take over.
When someone leaves
Closing the page lets it go. If a tab is closed without that, the hold runs out after two minutes.
