Trip, destination and guide page templates
Lay out every trip, destination and guide page once. Travel Orbit fills in each one, so a new trip gets its page by itself.
How-to guide2 min read
Trips, destinations and guides live in Travel Orbit, not in CMS Orbit. Your website still has a page for each of them: CMS Orbit keeps one layout for every trip page, one for every destination page and one for every guide page, and Travel Orbit fills in the trip, country or guide. Add a trip in Travel Orbit and its page is on your website straight away.
Find the templates
When the space is connected to Travel Orbit (see Use Travel Orbit on your pages), the content list has three entries under Travel Orbit pages: Trip page, Destination page and Guide page. They are added when the space connects, here or from Travel Orbit, and start as drafts. Publish them to put the pages on your website. If one was removed, turning the connection off and on again brings it back without touching the others.
Arrange the sections
Each template starts with all of its sections in order. For a trip page these are Trip hero, About the trip, Day by day, Dates and prices, Guides, Places to stay, What's included and Photo gallery. Move them, remove the ones you don't want, change their headings, or add your own blocks between them, such as a call to action band. Every page of that kind follows the change when you publish.
The preview shows the template with a real trip, country or guide from Travel Orbit, so you see the layout with real photos and text.
Change the address
Address decides where the pages live, such as /trips/{slug}. {slug} becomes the address name from Travel Orbit, such as lofoten-ridge-walk. Keep exactly one {slug}. When a trip's or guide's address name changes in Travel Orbit, visitors and search engines using the old address are sent on to the new one.
Change the content
The text, photos, prices, dates and guides come from Travel Orbit. Change them there: the website shows the change within a minute. Search engine titles and descriptions are set on the trip or guide in Travel Orbit, and on the destination.
