Use approved claims and disclaimers

Place approved wording on pages from the region's library, so a change reaches every page at once.

How-to guide1 min read

Claims are statements that must be worded exactly, such as a result, a guarantee or a price promise; disclaimers are the small print that goes with them. Pages place them from a library instead of typing them, so the wording is always the approved one.

Pages hold a claim by key and show the region’s current wording.

The library

Open Library › Claims. Each region has its own library, chosen at the top. Only people with claims:manage (SEO Managers and Administrators) can add or change claims, so what is there has been approved.

Each claim has a name, a kind (claim or disclaimer), the wording, and a key that pages hold. The key is fixed once made.

Place a claim on a page

Blocks with an Approved claims field offer the region's library. Search, pick, and the current wording shows under each one. A key missing from this region's library is flagged and left out on the website.

Change the wording

Edit a claim in the library. Every page that uses it shows the new wording within about a minute, without publishing them again. The edit is recorded in the audit trail with the old and new wording.

Archive or delete

A claim cannot be archived or deleted while pages use it; the library shows how many do. Archived claims are kept and can be restored.

Administrators and Owners can also delete claims for good, one at a time from a claim's menu or several at once by ticking them and choosing Delete. Claims in use cannot be ticked. A deletion cannot be undone, but it is recorded in the audit trail with the wording.
