Commerce Orbit in the Orbit app

Send orders, refund, take returns back, scan a barcode to find a product, count its stock and change its images, look after the shop's media and read your sales on your iPhone.

How-to guide3 min read

The Orbit app for iPhone opens your shops without a browser. It shows the same orders, products and customers as the web, and what you may do depends on your role, as on the web (see Roles). The app isn't in the App Store yet. Orbit's own help explains how to sign in to it.

Your shops

Tap Commerce on the app's home. Each shop shows today's orders and takings, the orders to send and what needs you: orders on invoice that are overdue, orders MAM didn't take, and products that are low or sold out.

Send an order

  1. Open the order and choose Send.
  2. Add the carrier and tracking number, or choose Buy a label if your shop has a carrier connected (see Send orders and add tracking).
  3. Choose whether the customer gets an email, then Mark as sent.

Without choosing lines, everything still to send goes in one parcel. To send on your tasks does the same in one tap.

Refund or cancel

Open the order and choose Refund for part or all of the amount, or Cancel order. They work as on the web (see Refunds and cancellations).

Scan to find a product

Choose Scan and point the camera at a barcode. The app opens the product with that barcode, SKU or MAM part number. From there:

  • Stock: type the number you counted at a location. It replaces the old count, as on the web, and shows in the product's stock history.
  • Price: change a variant's price. Prices that MAM sets can't be changed in Orbit.
  • Images: choose Add to pick images from the shop's media, or take or upload a photo on the spot. Touch and hold an image to make it the main image, move it or remove it. The change is saved straight away, also on products from MAM.

Media

Media on the shop holds the same images as Media on the web. Browse the latest images or a folder, search, and choose + to upload from Photos, Files or the camera. Photos are made smaller on the phone before they are sent, and the shop stores them as WebP like an upload on the web. Tap an image to see its details, write its description for people who can't see it, move it to a folder or move it to the bin. You can restore it from the bin on the web.

Everyone can look through the images; you need to be allowed to change the catalogue to upload or change them.

Returns

Approve or reject a return request, and receive the parcel when it arrives. Receiving without changes takes back every item, puts it in stock and refunds the customer (see Returns).

Customers and reports

Search customers by name or email to see their orders and what they have spent. Reports shows sales for the last 7, 30 or 90 days against the period before, with payment methods and the best sellers.
