Customer segments
Group customers by rules, such as what they spent, when they last ordered, their company, tags or country, then filter, export and use the group in discounts.
How-to guide2 min read
A segment is a group of customers made from rules, such as "spent more than €500" or "hasn't ordered in the last 90 days". Customers join and leave a segment by themselves as they order, so it is always up to date. Editors and Admins can make and change segments; everyone can see them.
Make a segment
- Open Customers and select Segments, then New segment.
- Give it a name, such as Regulars in Norway, and a description your team will understand.
- Add rules, and choose whether customers must match All rules or Any rule.
- Select Add segment. The customer list opens with the segment chosen.

Last order
Matches customers who
Ordered in the last, or not in the last, so many days, or after or before a date. Customers who never ordered don't match.

Tag

Have a tag, or don't. Add tags to a customer under Edit.
Country

Have a saved address in that country, or don't.
Marketing emails

For example, Northwilds' "Lapsed trade customers" is: Company is any company, and Last order not in the last 120 days.
Use a segment
- Filter: choose the segment above the customer list. Search works within it.
- Export: select Export to download the customers you see as a spreadsheet (CSV), with their orders, spending per currency, tags and consent. Exporting needs the right to manage customers.
- Discounts: a discount can be limited to a segment, so only customers in it can use the code when they are signed in.
Select Edit segment to change the rules. Removing a segment doesn't touch the customers in it.
