Bundles and downloads

Sell several products together as one bundle with stock from its products, and sell files such as guides and maps as downloads with limits and an end date.

Bundles

A bundle sells several products as one, such as the Lofoten starter kit: a Tind 2 tent, two sleeping mats and a stove. Shoppers buy it as one line, and each product in it leaves your stock.

To make one, add a product without options, turn on This product is a bundle under Bundle, and add the products in it with how many of each. A bundle can hold up to 20 products, but not another bundle.

Its price

Its own price
How it works
You set the price under Price and details, like any product.

How it works
The price is what the products cost together, less the Discount you choose, up to 90%. It follows them when their prices change, in every currency they all have a price in.

Its stock

A bundle has no stock of its own. It has as many as its products make: with 7 tents and 10 mats, a bundle of one tent and two mats has 5. When one product sells out, so does the bundle. When an order with a bundle is cancelled or refunded with restocking, its products go back into stock.

Downloads

A variant sold as a download delivers files instead of something posted, such as the Northwilds Lofoten route guide as a PDF. Turn it on under Downloads and subscriptions, then upload files or choose ones you uploaded before. Files can be up to 100 MB each.

  • Downloads per item: how many times each file can be downloaded for each one bought. Leave it empty for no limit.
  • Can download for: how many days after payment the files can be downloaded. Leave it empty for no end.

Downloads don't track stock unless you turn it on. When everything in the cart is a download, checkout asks for no delivery or address.

What shoppers get

Once the order is paid, or placed on invoice, the order confirmation has a link to each file. The same links are on the order page and in the shop account. Each link works for 7 days; the order page and the account always have fresh ones, until the download limit or the end date is reached. The files are kept private and are only sent to people with a link. Each click is checked and counted first, then the download starts straight from our file storage, so large files download as fast as the customer's connection allows.

A cancelled order can't be downloaded any more. Refunding a line in full stops its downloads too.

To stop selling a file, remove it from the variant first. Removing a file stops the downloads of earlier orders as well.
