Connect Google Search Console

See the Google searches people found your pages with, beside your visits, in Insights Orbit and in CMS Orbit's page editor.

How-to guide1 min read

With Google Search Console connected, Insights Orbit shows the searches people found your pages with on Google: how often a page was shown (impressions), how often it was clicked, and its average position. Search Console comes with the Growth plan.

Connect it

You need a Google account that can read the site in Google Search Console.

  1. Open the site, then Site settings, and go to Google Search Console.
  2. Select Connect Search Console and sign in with that Google account. Insights Orbit asks only to read Search Console.
  3. If the account has several properties, choose the one for this site.

Admins can connect and disconnect. Searches show up within a day: Insights Orbit reads Search Console every morning, and Google itself sends searches two to three days late. The first read goes back 90 days.

See the searches

  • In Insights Orbit, open Pages and the Google searches tab. Choose a page to see only its searches.
  • In CMS Orbit, the Performance tab of a page shows Found on Google for, the top five searches of the last 30 days.

Disconnect it

Under Site settings, select Disconnect. Insights Orbit forgets the connection and every search it read, and asks Google to end its access. You can also remove Insights Orbit's access from your Google account's security settings at any time; the settings then say the connection stopped.
