Pages

Pages has three lists:

  • Top pages: the pages people saw most, with the number of visitors, page views and the time spent on each. On wide screens, a small line shows each page's visitors per day, so a page that is growing or fading stands out.
  • Entry pages: where visits started, with the bounce rate and the goal completions of those visits. A page with many entries and few completions is worth a look.
  • Exit pages: the last page of each visit.

Time on page is the time until the next page in the same visit. The last page of a visit has no next page, so its time is not known and not counted.

Select a page to show every report for only the visits that saw it.

When the site follows a CMS Orbit website and you have CMS Orbit, Top pages also has an SEO column: the page's SEO score out of 100 and its open issues, from CMS Orbit's daily SEO check of the website's published pages. Like SEO › Health in CMS Orbit, the check reads each page as last saved, so the score can be a day behind a fix. A ring beside the score fills with it: green from 90, amber from 50 and red below. Select the score to open the page's SEO in CMS Orbit. A page that isn't in CMS Orbit, or whose address is used by more than one of its pages, such as the same address in two regions on different domains, shows no score.

Sources

Sources starts with a chart of the visits from each source per day, stacked so their tops add up to all visits, then the list of sources. Each source keeps its own colour, the same as on the overview, and Direct is grey. Hover over the chart to read each source's visits on that day.

Each visit has one source, worked out from where it came from:

Search
Visits that came from
Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and other search engines.
AI assistants
Visits that came from
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and others.
Social
Visits that came from
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and others.
Email
Visits that came from
Webmail, and links tagged with utm_medium=email.
Paid
Visits that came from
Ads, found from the click id ad networks add, or utm_medium=cpc.
Campaign
Visits that came from
Other links with utm_ tags.
Referral
Visits that came from
Any other website.
Direct
Visits that came from
Nothing to go on, such as a typed address or a link in an app.

Websites lists the other websites that sent visits. Only the website's name is kept, never the page that linked to you.

Campaigns lists the utm_campaign, utm_source and utm_medium values from your links, such as ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=spring.
