Every plan includes alerts, the server API for events from your servers, events from other satellites, the weekly summary on the overview, CSV downloads and the audit trail.

A feature outside your plan shows what it does and which plan has it, with a link to Billing for owners and admins. Nothing you made is deleted when a plan changes: labels stop counting until the plan includes them again, and the dashboards, shared links and summary emails you already have keep working.

Monthly events

Every page view and every other event counts as one event, in the calendar month (UTC) it happened, including events from your servers and from other satellites. Bots and the visits Insights Orbit leaves out on purpose are not counted. Sites shows this month's events beside the plan's.

Going over

Insights Orbit never stops counting because of the monthly events. Owners and admins get a note in the Orbit bell when the organisation has used 80% of the month's events, and again at 100%, so you can move up a plan before you need to.

When a trial or plan ends

When a trial ends without a plan, or a paid plan ends, Insights Orbit pauses:

  • Visits are no longer counted. The script and the server API still answer, with 204 and nothing stored, so your websites and servers carry on without errors.
  • Summary emails, alerts and Search Console updates stop.
  • Everyone can still sign in and read every report and dashboard, but nothing can be changed.
  • A notice at the top says Insights Orbit is paused. Owners and admins get a button to Billing in Orbit; everyone else is asked to talk to an owner.

Nothing is deleted. Choosing a plan brings it all back straight away, and visits are counted again within half a minute. Visits during the pause are not counted afterwards.
