Travel Orbit in the Orbit app

Look after bookings, send payment reminders, answer requests, check travellers in by scanning their booking, and look after your images and trip photos on your iPhone.

How-to guide2 min read

The Orbit app for iPhone opens your brands without a browser. It shows the same bookings, departures and trips as the web, and what you may do depends on your role (see Roles). The app isn't in the App Store yet. Orbit's own help explains how to sign in to it.

Your brands

Tap Travel on the app's home. Each brand shows requests to answer, replies you haven't read, overdue payments and the departures leaving this week.

Bookings and payments

Open a booking to see its travellers, payment plan, payments and messages. When a payment is due or overdue, choose Send reminder. The traveller gets the same reminder email Travel Orbit sends on its own (see Payments and reminders). You can send one reminder a day for each payment, and it shows in the booking's history.

Requests

Requests lists open requests and bookings where the traveller has replied. Write a reply and it goes to the traveller by email, as on the web (see Notifications and teamwork). From your tasks you can confirm a request in one tap.

Check travellers in

On the day of a departure, open it to see everyone on it, with dietary needs, emergency contacts and who has paid in full.

  1. Choose Check in and scan the code on the traveller's booking, or type the booking reference.
  2. Everyone on that booking is checked in. To check in one traveller, tap their name in the list instead.

A booking for another departure, or one that isn't confirmed, can't be checked in. Tap a checked-in traveller to undo it. Check-ins show in the booking's history.

Media and trip photos

Media on the brand holds the same images as Media on the web (see Media). Browse the latest images or a folder, search, and choose + to upload from Photos, Files or the camera. Photos are made smaller on the phone before they are sent, and Travel Orbit stores them as WebP, as it does on the web. Tap an image to see its details, write its description for people who can't see it, move it to a folder or move it to the bin. You can restore it from the bin on the web.

On a trip, Photos shows its images with the cover first. Choose Add to pick images from the brand's media, or take or upload a photo on the spot. Touch and hold an image to make it the cover, move it or remove it. The change is saved straight away and shows on your booking pages.

Everyone can look through the images; Admins and Editors can upload and change them.
