Show reviews on your website

Add a review widget to any website, choose what it shows, and how it stays within the EU and UK rules on reviews.

How-to guide2 min read

Open Widgets under Settings in the sidebar.

Widgets are for websites built some other way. A website built with CMS Orbit shows reviews with its own blocks instead, which look like the rest of the site and need no snippet: connect the website's space under Orbit connections in CMS Orbit. See Your reviews on websites built with CMS Orbit.

Build the widget

  1. Under Reviews of, choose one location, a group or all locations.
  2. Under From, tick the sites to show, such as Google and Trustpilot.
  3. Under Ratings shown, keep Every rating, or show only 4 and 5 stars, or 5 stars only.
  4. Choose a layout: List, Carousel or Badge (the average and the number of reviews only).
  5. Choose a theme and how many reviews to show.

The preview on the right shows the widget with your real reviews.

Add it to your website

Select Copy and paste the snippet where the reviews should show, such as on the Northwilds Oslo page. It looks like this:

HTML
<div data-presence-reviews data-business="northwilds" data-location="oslo" data-layout="list" data-theme="auto" data-limit="6"></div><script src="https://app.bifrostorbit.com/presence/embed.js" async></script>

The script needs no iframe, takes the font of your page and refreshes the reviews every few minutes. To allow only your own websites to load them, list them under Settings.

What the widget says about itself

Rules in the EU (the Omnibus Directive) and the UK (the DMCC Act) ask anyone who shows reviews to say how they are collected and not to hide reviews silently. So every widget:

  • shows where the reviews come from and how many of them are shown;
  • says so when you show only higher ratings;
  • links to How we collect reviews for the location.

Reviews are shown as customers wrote them. Replies published from Presence Orbit appear under them.

Stars in search results

Google doesn't show review stars in search for reviews a business shows about itself, even through a widget, so the widget adds no rating markup. Your stars show on your Google listing instead.
