Ask for reviews after trips and orders

Ask travellers for a review after a trip in Travel Orbit, customers after an order in Commerce Orbit, and after an appointment in Booking Orbit, with no lists to upload.

How-to guide3 min read

When your organisation also has Travel Orbit, Commerce Orbit or Booking Orbit, Presence Orbit can ask for a review by itself: after each trip ends, some days after each order is fulfilled, or once an appointment is marked as done.

Switch it on

  1. Open Orbit connections under Organisation.
  2. On the Travel Orbit, Commerce Orbit or Booking Orbit card, select Set it up.
  3. Switch on Ask for reviews.
  4. Choose how many days to wait. For trips it counts from the last day of the trip, one day by default. For orders it counts from when the order is fulfilled, seven days by default, so the parcel has time to arrive. For appointments it counts from the end of the appointment, none by default, so the request goes out a couple of hours later, after the quiet hours if needed.
  5. Under Location, choose the location the reviews are for, such as Northwilds Oslo.
  6. To ask for a different location for some of them, choose one next to a trip, such as Lofoten by Kayak, next to a stock location or pickup point, such as Northwilds Bergen, or next to a Booking Orbit location. The rest use the location above.
  7. Select Save settings.

Only Admins can change these settings. Only bookings confirmed, orders fulfilled and appointments marked as done after you switch it on are asked. Earlier ones aren't.

What happens then

A confirmed booking is noted when Travel Orbit confirms it, and Presence Orbit checks it again once the trip has ended. A fulfilled order, and an appointment marked as done, are noted straight away. When the wait is over, Presence Orbit makes a review request for the lead traveller or the customer, just like one you make yourself.

The rules under Review requests apply: quiet hours in the location's time zone, the cooldown between two requests to the same person, the channels and the reminder. Someone who opted out is never asked again. Cancelled bookings, cancelled orders, refunded orders, cancelled appointments and no-shows are never asked, also when they are cancelled while waiting.

The request shows under Review requests like any other, with After a trip or an order in another Orbit satellite as how it was made.

See what happened

The page for each satellite lists the latest bookings or orders Presence Orbit heard about:

  • Waiting: the trip hasn't ended, or the wait isn't over. It shows when it is checked again.
  • Asked: a request was made. View request opens it.
  • Not asked: with the reason, such as a cooldown, an opt-out or no location chosen.
  • Cancelled: the booking or order was cancelled or refunded.
  • Failed: the other satellite couldn't be reached for more than a day.

Personal details

Travel Orbit, Commerce Orbit and Booking Orbit don't send names or email addresses to other satellites when something happens: their events only say which booking, order or appointment it was. When it is time to ask, Presence Orbit fetches the name, email address, phone number and language for that one booking, order or appointment, and nothing more. Travel Orbit only gives them once the trip has ended, Commerce Orbit once the order is fulfilled, and Booking Orbit once the appointment is marked as done.

People are asked because they are your customers, as with a request after a visit to a shop. Your privacy notice should say that customers may be asked for a review.
