The booking page
Every location has its own booking page where customers pick a service, a person and a time, in their own language and time zone. Share it, put it on your website and choose what it asks.
How-to guide3 min read
Every location has a booking page of its own, at an address such as app.bifrostorbit.com/booking/b/northwilds-oslo. Customers don't need an account. They book in four short steps:
- Service. Every listed service with its length, price and the next free time.
- Person. Someone in particular, or Anyone available, which shows the most times and spreads bookings fairly. The step is skipped when only one person does the service, or when you turn off Choose a person.
- Time. A week at a time, grouped into morning, afternoon and evening. The page shows times in the customer's own time zone and lets them change it. Soonest times and Next available jump straight to the first free times.
- Details. Name, email, and the phone, note and form questions you ask for. The time is held for them for 10 minutes while they fill this in, so nobody else can take it.
They get a confirmation with the time, a reference, links to add it to Apple, Google or Outlook calendars, and a link to change or cancel. The same goes to their email.
The page speaks every language the location writes in (Settings, languages), works on phones first and can be used with a keyboard and screen reader throughout.
Share it
Under Booking page, Share and embed has:
- the direct link, for emails, social profiles and your Google Business Profile;
- a QR code to print for the counter or a flyer;
- code to put the booking page on your website, inside a page or behind a Book now button. This widget is for websites not built with CMS Orbit; a website built with CMS Orbit takes bookings on its own pages once its space is connected under Orbit connections.
Choose Start with to make a link or button for one service, such as a boot fitting. Every service also has its own page, at the booking page address followed by the service's address, that search engines can find.
What the page asks and shows
- Words on the page: a welcome under the name, and a note shown after booking, such as where to park. Write them in each language.
- Choose a person and Show prices.
- Phone number and A note from them: require, ask or don't ask.
- Waitlist: lets customers wait for a time to free up when nothing suits. See the waitlist.
- Ask about news: adds an unticked box for news and offers. What they choose is kept on the customer.
- Terms and Privacy notice: linked under the Confirm button.
Rules
- Notice: the soonest anyone can book, such as 2 hours ahead.
- Furthest ahead: how far into the future the page shows times.
- Times every: how often a time starts.
- Move online until and Cancel online until: after that, the customer sees your phone and email instead.
- Limit a day: how many appointments one person can book on the same day.
- Confirm each booking: bookings arrive as requests your team confirms.
A service can have its own rules, which win over the location's.
Services on the page
Each service is Listed, Link only (has its own address but isn't listed, for private offers) or Hidden (can't be booked online).
The name, logo, cover image, colour and address of the page are under Settings.
