Your name and picture

  1. Open the menu under your name at the bottom left.
  2. Choose Edit profile.
  3. Under Picture, choose Upload, or drop an image on the round space. Use a PNG, JPEG or WebP image.
  4. Frame it: drag to move it and zoom to fit, then choose Use this.
  5. Change your Name if you need to. It can be up to 80 characters.
  6. Choose Save.

Your name and picture show straight away across Bifröst Orbit and its satellites. CMS Orbit has the same Edit profile in its account menu, so you can change them from there too.

A picture you upload stays, even if your organisation's sign-in has a photo of you. Choose Remove to go back to your initials. If your sign-in has a photo, it may be used again the next time you sign in.

The same menu switches between Light, Dark and System, which follows your device. The sign-in page uses the same choice, and has its own switch at the bottom.

Notifications

The bell at the top shows how many notifications you have not read. Choose it to see the latest ones from every satellite, such as a review you were asked for or something that failed.

  • Choose a notification to go straight to it. It is marked as read.
  • Mark all read clears the count but keeps the list.
  • Clear all, or the cross on one notification, removes them from the list.
  • The speaker turns the notification sound on or off on this device. It covers your inbox too.

New notifications also pop up in the corner while Bifröst Orbit is open.

Notifications marked Orbit are messages from the Bifröst Orbit team, such as news about a change. Choose one to read all of it.

Notifications from an environment that is not live, such as staging, carry its name, so they are never mistaken for the real thing. Platform admins can choose in Settings which environments send notifications to Bifröst Orbit at all.

Your inbox

The inbox, next to the bell at the top, lists reviews, work assigned to you and unpublished changes from every satellite in your region. Its number shows how many tasks are open. Reviews and work assigned to you come first under For you, then Your changes, newest first in each.

Some items open in a panel beside the page you are on, so you can deal with them without leaving. Choose Skip to next, or Next once you have finished, to move to the next one of the same kind. Others open in their satellite. See all tasks opens Tasks, where everything is grouped.

When a review or a piece of work is newly waiting for you, it pops up in the corner with the notification sound, while Bifröst Orbit is open.

The welcome tour

The first time you open Home on a device, a short tour points out your satellites, what is waiting on you, your inbox, search, Orbit Exchange and the status of the platform. Use Next and Back, or the arrow keys, and Skip the tour or Esc to stop.

To see it again, open Settings and choose Take the tour again.

Delete your account

Open the menu under your name and choose Your account, then Delete my account. Enter the six-digit code we email you and choose Delete for good. You are signed out, and your profile, picture, sign-in methods and access to every organisation are removed. What you made in your organisations, such as pages, stays with them.

Every organisation needs an owner. If you are the only owner of one, the page lists it: make someone else owner under Members, or delete the organisation, first. Deleting an account cannot be undone.
