# Locations

> Add your shops and offices, keep their details right, group them, import them from a file and link each one to its place on review sites.

A location is a place customers visit and review, such as the Northwilds shop on Karl Johans gate in Oslo. Presence Orbit keeps its details as the source of truth: the name, address, phone, website, hours, categories, description and photos. Reviews, review requests and the Presence Score all belong to a location.

Open **Locations** in the sidebar to see them all, with how many reviews each has and its average rating. Search by name, store code or city, and filter by group with the tabs above the list.

## Add a location

1. Select **New location**.
2. Enter the name, such as Northwilds Oslo. Everything else is optional, but the more you fill in, the better Presence Orbit can compare it with Google:
   - **Address**, **Phone**, **Website** (the page for this place, such as `https://northwilds.com/stores/oslo/`) and **Email**.
   - **Categories**: the first one is the main category, as on Google, such as Outdoor sports store.
   - **Description**: up to 750 characters, which is what Google shows.
   - **Photos** from the media library. The first one is the cover.
   - **Opening hours**: switch each day on and set the hours, or set Monday and select **Use Monday’s hours for every weekday**. Add holidays and other days that differ under **Special days**.
   - **Time zone**, used for quiet hours when asking for reviews and for reports.
   - **Reviews a month**: the goal the Presence Score measures review volume against. It is 10 unless you change it.
3. Select **Add location**.

Connected Google already? It is quicker to bring its places in under **Review sites**, with their details filled in. See [Review sites](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/presence/everyone/review-sites/).

## Groups

Groups such as Norway, Shops or Rental points help you filter the list and reports. A location can be in several groups.

Select **Groups** on the locations list to add, rename or delete one. Deleting a group keeps its locations. Choose a location’s groups at the bottom of its page.

## Import locations from a file

Select **Import** and paste the rows or choose a CSV file. The first row holds the column names:

| Column | Holds |
| --- | --- |
| `name` | The location’s name. Required. |
| `code` | Your own store code, such as OSL-01. |
| `address`, `city`, `postcode`, `country` | The address. The country is a two-letter code, such as NO. |
| `phone`, `website`, `email` | How to reach it. |
| `group` | One or more groups, separated by `|`. New groups are created. |

A row whose code, or else name, matches an existing location updates that location instead of adding another. Commas, semicolons and tabs all work as separators. Rows that can’t be read are listed with the reason.

## Link a location to review sites

At the top of a location’s page, **Review sites** shows where it gets reviews. Select **Link to Google** (or another connected site) and choose the matching place. Its reviews arrive with the next sync, within 15 minutes.

**Unlink** stops new reviews from that place. The reviews already in Presence Orbit stay, with their replies and notes.

For a site Presence Orbit can’t connect to, select **Import reviews** and paste a file with `date`, `rating`, `author` and `text` columns, and optionally `title`, `site`, `url` and `reply`. Imported reviews are read only: reply on the site itself. Importing the same file twice changes nothing.

## Your plan

Plans count locations, not reviews, requests or people: Starter includes 3 locations, Growth 25 and Enterprise as many as you need. When the plan is full, **New location** is greyed out and imports leave out the rows over the limit.

## Move a location to the bin

Select **Move to the bin** on its page. Its reviews and history stay, but it stops syncing and no longer counts towards your plan. Restore it from **In the bin** at the bottom of the locations list, or from **Bin** in the sidebar.

Only owners can delete a location for good, from **Bin**. That removes the location with its reviews, requests, private feedback, survey answers, follow-ups and score history in Presence Orbit. The reviews stay on the review sites themselves.
