# Your first day in Bifröst Orbit

> Sign in, find your satellites, and see what is waiting for you.

Bifröst Orbit is where your organisation's tools meet. Each tool is a **satellite**, such as CMS Orbit for your websites. You sign in once here and open every satellite you have been given without signing in again.

Bifröst Orbit and its satellites are made for laptops and desktops. In a window 768 pixels wide or less, such as on a phone, they ask you to open them on a larger screen.

## 1. Sign in

Open Bifröst Orbit and sign in the way your organisation allows: with Microsoft, or with a code sent to your email. See [Signing in](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/orbit/everyone/signing-in/) if you are not sure which to use.

## 2. Look around Home

Home greets you and shows what needs you across every satellite:

- The greeting says what is waiting on you: pages to review, fixes assigned to you and your changes still to publish. Below it, buttons open your main satellite, search everything and, for owners and admins, invite people.
- The orbit on the right shows every satellite. Filled ones are yours, dashed ones you can try or ask for, and faint ones are planned. Point at one to see its name and what is waiting, and select it to open it.
- **Today** shows only what needs you, per satellite, and the events that went through Orbit Exchange today. When nothing is waiting it says **All clear** and suggests something to do next.
- **Your satellites** opens each tool you have, with its counts, whether it is working and shortcuts such as **Spaces** and **Reviews and tasks**.
- **Live in Orbit Exchange** shows the latest events between your satellites. **Open** goes to Orbit Exchange.
- **Recently edited** shows what you changed last, so you can pick up where you left off.

While a satellite is in its free trial, or a cancelled plan is running out, Home shows a live countdown to the day it ends. Owners and admins can select it to open **Billing**.

Owners also see a checklist to get their organisation ready. When every step is done, Home celebrates once and the checklist goes away.

If you see no satellites yet, you are signed in but no organisation has added you. Ask an owner or admin of your organisation to add you.

## 3. Pick your region

If your organisation works in more than one region, choose yours at the top, next to search. Tasks, search and recent work then show that region. Organisations without regions show no picker.

## 4. Search everything

Press **⌘K** (or **Ctrl K**) and type a page name or address. Search looks across every satellite you can open.

For help with any screen, choose the lifebuoy next to the bell, or press **?**. It shows the guides for that screen and searches all of them.

## 5. Make it yours

Open the menu under your name at the bottom left to switch between dark and light, or match your device. Everyone starts in dark mode.

The menu on the left lists your satellites first. Below them, **Organisation** holds **Organisations** and, for owners and admins, **Billing**. **Platform** holds **Status**, **Exchange**, **Settings** and **Documentation**. Platform admins also see **Platform admin**, with **People** and **Plans**.

The button at the top left folds the menu on the left away, and it stays the way you left it as you move between pages and satellites.

If your name is not shown the way you like, or you have no picture, choose **Edit profile** in the same menu. Change your name, upload a picture and choose **Save**. Your name and picture show straight away across Bifröst Orbit and its satellites. A picture you upload stays, even if your organisation's sign-in has a photo of you.
