# Change a space's settings

> Name a space, choose what the website does when a page is missing, set its time zone, and duplicate, export, import or remove it.

Source: https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/cms/editors/space-settings/

Open **Configuration › Settings**. Administrators and Owners can change these settings. Everyone else can see them, with the note **Your role can view these settings but not change them**.

Change what you need, then choose **Save changes**. **Discard** puts back what was saved.

## General

- **Photo:** the space's logo, shown in a circle wherever the space is listed. A PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG up to 2 MB. Choose it or drop it on the circle, then move and zoom it to frame it before it is saved.
- **Name** and **Description:** how the space is shown across the CMS.
- **Slug:** used in API addresses. It is set when the space is created and cannot change, so websites and integrations keep working.
- **Default environment:** where the content explorer opens.

## Preview

The **Preview URL**, **Other preview URLs** and **Preview breakpoints** decide which website editors see beside a page and the screen widths they can switch between. A developer usually sets these up; see [Set up the live preview](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/cms/developers/preview/).

## Delivery

These decide what the website gets when the exact page is not there.

- **When a page is missing in a region:** choose **Answer not found**, or show another region's page instead, such as **Show the Germany page**. The website is told when this happens, so it can show a notice.
- **Keep the old URL working when a page moves:** when on, publishing a page at a new address adds a 301 redirect from the old one. The editor is told and can undo it. See [Redirects](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/cms/editors/redirects/).
- **Allow locale fallback:** lets the website be served a fallback language when a page is missing in the one asked for. A website can still ask for an exact match.
- **Offer machine translation:** shows a translate button on text fields while editing. It only appears when the space has more than one language, since there is nothing to translate otherwise. Turn it off to hide it everywhere in the space.

## Bin and time

- **Empty the bin:** how long pages and files stay in this space's bin before they are erased for good, with their history. Choose **Never, only by hand**, or after 30, 60 or 90 days.
- **Timezone:** used for scheduled publishing and the publishing history. A region with its own time zone uses that instead.

## Insights Orbit

Shown only when your organisation has Insights Orbit and you have access to it. Connect the space's website to a site in Insights Orbit: choose an existing site, or **Add a new site** with its name and address, then **Connect**. Editors then see visitors and campaign results beside their pages. See [See how pages and campaigns do](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/cms/editors/insights/).

Connecting needs the Admin role in Insights Orbit as well as the right to change these settings. **Disconnect** removes the connection; the website keeps counting until its script is removed.

## Duplicate this space

Choose **Duplicate space**, give the copy a **Name** and choose **Duplicate**. The copy gets the same environments, regions, locales and schema. Turn on **Copy the content too** to bring every page across as a draft; leave it off for an empty space shaped like this one.

API keys, domains and webhooks are not copied, and nothing arrives published.

## Export

**Download JSON** saves every content type, block, page, menu, redirect and file record in the space as one file. Files are listed with their addresses rather than included. Keys, webhook secrets and history are left out.

## Import from an export

Choose **Import…** to bring in a file downloaded with **Download JSON**, from this space or another. Only CMS Orbit exports are accepted; any other file is refused.

1. Choose the **Export file**. Nothing is saved yet: the dialog lists what it found.
2. Turn on **Pages too** to bring pages as well. They arrive as drafts in the environment, region and locale with the same names here. A page whose address is already taken here is left out. Menus and files are not imported.
3. Check the list. **New** is added, **Already here** is left as it is, and **Skipped** could not be read, with the reason.
4. Choose **Add**, followed by the number of items.

Content types, components and taxonomies with the same key as one here are never changed.

## Move the space to the bin

Owners can choose **Move to the bin** at the bottom of the page. Everyone loses access and the space's addresses stop working, but nothing is deleted: the content, media and publishing history are kept. An Owner can restore it, or erase it for good, from the organisation's **Bin**. See [Restore something deleted](https://docs.bifrostorbit.com/cms/editors/bin-and-restore/).
