# Fix missing addresses and broken links

> Find the addresses visitors could not reach and the links inside the CMS that lead nowhere, and mend them with redirects or edits.

Open **SEO › Not found**. It shows the environment chosen in the top bar; pick another from the list on the right.

## Addresses visitors hit

**Visitors hit** lists addresses the website was asked for that have no page and no redirect, with how often and the pages that linked there.

To fix one, choose **Add redirect**, then pick a live page or type an address. The address leaves the list as soon as a redirect or a live page covers it. Addresses not asked for in 90 days drop off by themselves.

Addresses that only scanners ask for are never counted, so bots looking for weak spots don't fill the list. That covers addresses such as `/.env`, `/wp-admin`, `/_environment` and `/info/refs`, anything with `.php` in it, addresses ending in a backslash, and the website's own build files under `/_next/`.

### One-off visits

Other bots guess common addresses, such as `/about-us`, `/news` or `/press`, to see what a website has. Those look like any other missing page, so they can't be left out by name. Instead, an address asked for only once or twice, with no page linking to it, is folded under **One-off visits**. The counts at the top leave them out too.

The list shows what's worth a redirect: addresses asked for three times or more, or that a page links to. Choose **One-off visits** to see the rest, and **Hide one-off visits** to fold them away again. A one-off address that keeps being asked for moves into the list by itself.

### Archive and clear

- **Archive:** tick the addresses you do not need to act on and choose **Archive**. They leave the list but keep counting visits, and **Archived** shows them. Select them there and choose **Restore** to bring them back.
- **Clear log:** removes every address for the environment, in the list and in the archive, and starts counting from zero. It cannot be undone, so you type a short code to confirm. It needs the SEO Manager role or higher, and it is recorded in the audit log.

## Broken links in the CMS

**Broken links in the CMS** lists links on pages and in menus that lead nowhere:

| Reason | Means |
| --- | --- |
| Page not live | It links to a draft or unpublished page |
| Page in the bin | The page it links to was deleted |
| Page deleted | The page no longer exists at all |
| No page at this address | A typed address that no page or redirect covers |
| File deleted | A link to a file removed from the library |

Links marked **Live** are on published pages or in menus, so visitors can click them now; fix those first. **Open** goes straight to the block or the menu. **Add redirect** mends an address without editing the page.

## Addresses the website serves itself

Some addresses, such as the shop or booking, are served by the website rather than the CMS. Choose **The website serves /shop** on a row, or list them in **SEO › Settings › Links**, and links under them are no longer reported.
